YEAR 4 MINIBALL BREAKUP

Last night I had my miniball breakup.  There were sausages and fizzy drinks.  After a while the sausages were ready.  I got a raspberry fizzy drink.   I sat down with Kreed, Fergus and Jordan.   After we all had our drinks and sausages we had the lollie scramble.  I got two, then we went home, it was cool.

SEWING

We finally finished our fantastic mural for the Art Gallery.  Everyone did some sewing to help make our art work beautiful.

Thank you to all the parents who helped us with our sewing throughout the term.  You can view our artwork at the Ashburton Art Gallery from October 13-November 4.

PLANTING SEEDS

PLANTING SEEDS FOR THE FAIR:

Yesterday me and Angus did some planting.  We had to put the a hole in the soil and put a seed in the hole.  We made 12 pots with seeds in them, then it was someone elses turn.  It was fun.  I can't wait until they're grown.

RHYTHM INTERACTIVE

Our drums session was loud and amazing.  The whole senior school got to make music together, often playing the drums in rounds for an awesome effect.  We had sore ears and hands by the end of it, but it was a lot of fun.

RUGBY

On Saturday I went down to the Allenton Rugby Grounds to watch some of the Hampstead boys in action.  Their were some great tries, tackling and team work.  Here are some of the photos.

NETBALL

Hampstead C Netball Game:

On a frozen Saturday morning I had to play netball, the ball was wet
and slimy.  At the 2nd quarter my brother was standing in the way
of the goal for Longbeach C.  Longbeach I think beat us by 4 more at the end.  We did 3 hiparrays and the team lined up behind me and said, "good game".  Then we did player of the game, both Drew and Fiona got Player of the Day.  Miss Wise was our umpire for the day so she got, 'supporter of the day'.  We shared out the lollies and went home.

Student of the Week - Acacia

On Friday Acacia was presented with the Student of the Week Certificate at assembly.

Acacia got this award because she is a great listener, she gets on with her work and is helpful and kind to other Room 9 students.  Well done ACACIA!

COLLAGE

This term we have been working up ripping up small pieces of paper from magazines to make a collage.  Here is Ryan working on his ladybird.

They worked on the flower together.

Foni and Caleb were very good at ripping up small bits of paper and glueing them down.  Fantastic team work on the flower!

SNOW DAY!

On Wednesday it snowed.   We got the day off, Mum and Dad also had the day off.  After lunch we went to play outside, we made snowhills.  On Thursday Jack Frost came and froze the snow.  We had to come back to school wrapped up warm, it was also very slippery.  Today in The Press it showed that in Christchurch it had been the coldest that it had been since July 22nd, 1918.  In Christchurch it was -5.8 C and in Ashburton it was -3.8 C.

Melissa came to school and painted our faces for our play called, "Too many Mangoes".  
We looked so cool and we did a great job.



We also sang 'Kookaburra sings in an old gum tree".  The ukulele group played their ukuleles.  They made our song sound brilliant!                      Many thanks to the ukulele group.

Renee said after assembly "I liked how we all worked as a team".   I agree Renee, Room 9 did a fantastic job, we ROCK!
